As indicated in the title, this is the second 500 g My Book that I've purchased. No issues as yet (purchased the first one about 6 months ago). Seems a bit slow when transferring data, but I am OK with that. Quiet operation. An On/Off switch would be nice, but oh, well...

Item worked for about 4 weeks then quit ,It also was not a 500 GB it was a 160 GB so I had to send it back for a replacement,Amizon.com was great about that though.

I like the design of this product. I've already had one $80GB passport size from WD and I was happy with it. I have this one for a month and so far, so good.

I would give it 5-star if it wasn't for power source limitation (it can not get power through USB) and that it doesn't have on/off button.

this is a bare bones hard drive that works great. just plug in and start using. no bells, no whistles, this is for the do it urself back-it-upper. love it. even talked family in to buying one and they love it as well.
