Underside of cutting blade assembly seems impossible to clean January 2, 2009

I have not used the food processor part yet, but the blender itself works fine, and the plastic jar is fairly thick, so it should be durable even when chopping ice, which I add regularly to my shakes.

My only issue with the blender thus far is that the underside of the cutting blade assembly is difficult to clean, and there is a very strong bacterial odor emanating from the underside. I regularly remove the assembly from the jar, so the top of the assembly is easily cleaned, but there seems to be no way to really clean the underside and get at the bacteria there without disassembling the cutting blade assembly. Even letting it soak in hot soapy water doesn't seem to do the trick.

I wrote Hamilton Beach and am waiting for a reply.

Terrible. Made very cheap. I was very excited when I bought this thinking that is was going to be great. I burned out the motor first time using it.

I've barely had this 6 months and have only used it maybe 10 times and it's already broken. Not to mention it didn't work well when it was functioning. I bought this to make smoothies and I constantly had to stir the fruit up because it wouldn't mix well.

I like the wave action of the blender and tha the jar is made of plastic and is much bigger than my old one, I don't have to blend on parts I blen all at once because of this big jar, I'm very happy with this blender.

This unit is replacing my Magic Bullet that burned out after only 1 year. So far, I've made smoothies and iced drinks in the blender without any problems. I've also made chopped nuts and shredded cheese in the processor, which was not as fine as I had hoped, but worked pretty good. Overall, I'm happy with this unit - very small counter space, easy to clean, and it works well for my needs.
