I would not want a firmer support sock! June 18, 2008

I find this firm sock is sometimes hard to get on, but it gives me a good support all day long and they wear like new for years. Machine wash & dry does not weaken the firmness at all. Amazon price cannot be beat!

I recently had open-heart surgury. Afterwards I had significant edema in my left leg. The physical therapist suggested wearing compression socks. When I started searching I was shocked at the prices! The Futuro were significantly less expensive (cheaper). I've used Fururo products before and was satisfied so I bought a few pair. I've worn them quite a while now and I'm happy with the product and the results. I have kinda' heavy calfs and was concerned about the fit. No problem. I follow the washing recommendations and they are holding up well. The edema, well it's controlled beautifully. Don't be afraid to buy these!

These are the perfect long-distance traveling socks. I bought them for a flight from Chicago to Shanghai (14.5 hours). I have previously flown many times to Brazil and hated the feeling of bloated, pulsing feet when landing after a 9 hour flight. It would be hard to get my shoes back on and then painful to walk for a few minutes.

With these black beauties I just slipped them on at the beginning of the flight and enjoyed the firm support over the course of my travels. I should clarify the 'slip' comment - being support socks it actually takes some strength and effort to get them on and all the way up over the calf.

If you're buying them for air travel then I would suggest taking another pair of socks (cotton/wool) to put over them, since it gets cold on the plane especially when the socks are constricting your circulation a little (in a good way).

It works great. My work requires me to stand all day long, making my legs tired and swollen by the end of the day. These support socks helps my legs feel less tired and they don't get as swollen as when I don't use them.
